Astana only has the minimum 23 riders, so if he joined after November 20, that would mean Astana offered Pereiro a "hasty" contract for an amount he'd agree to before the deadline to save their contract, then they could toss him aside when they replaced him with Jufre. Just in case I'm right, I sent the UCI an e-mail and put a bug in the ear of a couple of cycling sites. I'd love to see Astana reconsider in time for Oscar to be at training camp.
